Gail Bronson Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on Thousand Palms Canyon Road in Desert Hot Springs

, California (March 15, 2022) – The woman who died Monday afternoon following a traffic collision in Desert Hot Springs has been identified as Gail Bronson, 81, of , according to authorities.

The deadly crash happened at around 3:35 p.m. on March 14 at the intersection of Thousand Palms Canyon Road and Dillion Road.

Bronson reportedly allowed her 2007 Toyota Sienna to drift to the right of the roadway onto the dirt shoulder. She then swerved to the left, which caused the vehicle to travel southbound in the northbound lane of Thousand Palms Canyon Road.

Bronson's vehicle then collided head-on into an oncoming 2010 Nissan Rouge. Due to the impact, the Sienna overturned and landed on its roof within the dirt shoulder.

The Rouge ended up on its wheels, partially blocking the northbound and southbound lanes of Thousand Palms Canyon Road.

Bronson and an unidentified 79-year-old woman were taken to Desert Medical Center, where Bronson later succumbed to her injuries. Both drivers were sole occupants of their respective vehicles.

Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
