, California (March 17, 2022) – 2-year-old Julian Aros was among two victims of a deadly crash that happened at an intersection near Liberty Elementary School in Riverside on Tuesday afternoon, according to a local news source.

Julian and his babysitter, Eligia Del Rosario Morales, 58, of Riverside, died following the accident that occurred in a crosswalk at Hayes and Roosevelt streets at around 3:50 p.m. March 15.

The two had gone to the school to pick up Julian's sister, Margarita Aros, 7.

As the three were walking across the road, they were struck by a 46-year-old driver in a blue 2020 Range Rover. The vehicle was westbound on Hayes Street when the driver tried to make a left turn onto Roosevelt Street and struck the pedestrians.

Morales and Julian were both pronounced deceased at the site of the accident.

Margarita was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Alcohol and drugs were not believed to have been involved in the collision.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
