Teenage Bicyclist Killed in Mountain View Crash at El Camino Real and Grant Road

Mountain View, California (March 17, 2022) – A teenager on a bicycle died when he was struck by a dump truck Thursday morning at an intersection in Mountain View, authorities said.
The deadly crash happened at about 8:15 a.m. on March 17 at the intersection of El Camino Real and Grant Road.
According to the authorities, a 13-year-old boy who was a student at Graham Middle School was riding his bicycle when a dump truck hit him at the Mountain View intersection.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and tried to provide life-saving measures on the student. The boy, whose name was being withheld pending family notification, was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Intoxication or speed was not considered a factor in the crash.
Police temporarily blocked the northbound lanes on Grant Road from Phyllis to El Camino.
No other details were available.
