5 Injured in 3-Vehicle Crash on Byron Highway in Byron

Byron, California (March 19, 2022) – Five people were injured in a Friday night three-vehicle accident in Byron, authorities said.

The accident occurred at about 11:00 p.m., on March 18, Byron Highway, just south of Camino Diablo.

According to the California Highway Patrol, three vehicles collided on the highway. A speeding car was headed southbound when it crossed the yellow line and crashed head-on into a northbound Acura.

As a result of the crash impact, one woman was trapped in the Acura. Firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to cut her out of the mangled car.

5 Injured in Byron Highway Crash

One woman suffered multiple leg bone breaks. Two women were transported by helicopter to a trauma center.

Two other patients were transported by ground ambulance.

More details regarding the accident were not available.

The crash remains under investigation.
