2 Killed in Contra Costa County Crash on I-80
Contra Costa County, California (March 20, 2022) – A major crash on eastbound I-80 in Contra Costa County left two people dead on Sunday morning, according to authorities.
The incident happened on I-80 near Carquinez Bridge at Cummings Skyway at about 3:41 a.m.
A driver heading west on eastbound I-80 collided with an oncoming vehicle for unknown reasons.
The eastbound driver also collided with a Tesla Model 3. The incident happened just west of Pomona Street.
At least one of the vehicles caught fire following the crash.
Two people died in the accident.
The CHP is investigating the collision.
