3 Hurt in Trinity River Accident on SR 299 near Steel Bridge Road
Trinity River, California (March 22, 2022) – Three people were taken to a hospital after being involved in a major collision on SR 299 in Trinity River Saturday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At around 1:13 p.m. March 19, a Toyota was heading west on SR 299 when he crossed the solid double yellow lines and crashed into the left side of a Ford truck-trailer combination.
The Toyota reportedly spun counter-clockwise and collided with the trailer of the Ford.
3 Injured in Trinity River Collision on SR 299
The engine and transmission of the Toyota was detatched from the vehicle during the crash.
The driver of the Ford was airlifted to Mercy Medical Center with suspected serious injuries.
A passenger in the Toyota was taken to Trinity General Hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the Toyota was also hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
CHP said alcohol and drugs were not suspected to be factors in the incident.
An investigation is ongoing.
