Man Killed in Baker Car Crash on Interstate 15 near Halloran Springs Road Identified
Baker, California (March 27, 2022) – Authorities identified the man who died Saturday morning in a rollover crash that happened near Baker, as per a local news source.
39-year-old Raul Negrete Gontes, of Compton, was involved in the crash at around 3:08 a.m. on northbound Interstate 15 near Halloran Springs Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Gontes was driving an SUV and collided with a sedan under unclear circumstances. Gontes' SUV rolled over multiple times before landing in the center divider.
Emergency personnel responding to the crash pronounced Gontes dead at the scene.
Details about the occupants of the sedan were not available.
Barstow California Highway Patrol officers are investigating the collision.
