Cuesta Grade, California (March 28, 2022) – Two drivers were injured in a wrong-way collision in County on Sunday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.

The incident happened at around 5:13 a.m. March 27, on Highway 101 south of TV Tower Road in Cuesta Grade.

According to the CHP, David Lopez, 24, of was driving the wrong way on southbound Highway 101 when he collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle driven by Duane Adent, 24, of Santa Maria.

The impact caused Adent's vehicle to spin and it flipped multiple times.

Debris from the collision struck the front and windshield of a vehicle driven by Chris Beard, 51, of Templeton.

Adent was transported to Sierra Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.

Lopez was treated for minor injuries.

No other injuries were reported in the incident.

CHP said Lopez was arrested on suspicion of DUI following the collision.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
