Two Injured in Santa Ana Car Crash on SR-55 Freeway near Edinger Avenue

Santa Ana, California (March 28, 2022) – Two people were hurt when a crash caused two vehicles to overturn in Santa Ana early Sunday morning, according to authorities.
The involved vehicles were described as a blue 2007 Toyota Camry and a blue 2009 Toyota Camry.
The wreck happened just before 2:31 a.m. March 27, on the SR-55 Freeway just north of Edinger Avenue.
Authorities said the 2009 Camry was changing lanes when it rear-ended the other Camry.
Both vehicles overturned and one person was trapped in the 2009 Camry.
The trapped driver was extricated and transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries. The driver was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Two parties in the second vehicle suffered minor injuries but declined transport.
The crash impacted a large pole that fell down an embankment.
