Michael Eagan ID'd as Rider Killed in Eureka Bicycle Accident at Herrick Avenue and Elk River Road
Eureka, California (March 28, 2022) – The bicyclist who was killed in a traffic collision in Eureka on Wednesday evening has been identified as Michael David Eagan, 75, of Eureka, according to authorities.
The wreck happened at Herrick Avenue and Elk River Road at around 4:50 p.m. March 23.
According to CHP, a 1994 Dodge Ram was heading west on Herrick Avenue when it collided with a bicyclist that had been heading north on Elk River Road.
Eagan, who was riding the bicycle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Dodge, Tom Hull, 59, of Field's Landing, was not injured and cooperated with the investigators.
The CHP is conducting an investigation into the incident.
