Rider Killed, Kaitlyn Vansant Arrested after Fatal Olivehurst Crash on George Avenue near McGowan Parkway
Olivehurst, California (March 28, 2022) – Kaitlyn Vansant, 21, of Olivehurst was arrested after a fatal Sunday night crash that left a bicyclist dead in Olivehurst, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The incident happened at around 9:30 p.m. March 27, on George Avenue, just south of McGowan Parkway.
CHP said a 36-year-old Olivehurst man was riding a bike southbound on George Road when he was rear-ended by a 2019 Ford Fusion driven by Vansant.
The rider, whose name was not released, was rushed to Adventist Health and Rideout hospital in Marysville, where he was pronounced deceased.
Vansant was arrested on charges of second-degree murder and DUI.
The CHP is investigating the incident.
