Andre Retana Killed in Bicycle Accident at El Camino Real and Highway 237 in Mountain View
Mountain View, California (March 31, 2022) -13-year-old Andre Retana has been identified as the teenager who was killed in a bicycle accident that happened on March 17 in Mountain View.
The accident occurred at around 8:15 a.m. at the intersection of El Camino Real and Highway 237.
Police say Renata fell off his bike for unknown reasons and was struck by a construction truck.
The driver of the truck did not see Retana prior to the crash, and they did not even know that the collision occurred until bystanders intervened.
Retana sustained major injuries and was rushed to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The truck driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
No other details regarding the crash were provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
