Man Dies after Yorba Linda Crash on Riverside Freeway near Coal Canyon Trail
Yorba Linda, California (March 31, 2022) – Authorities are investigating a Thursday morning fiery traffic accident involving a big rig that killed a man in Yorba Linda.
The deadly accident occurred at about 12:50 a.m. on Riverside (91) Freeway, just east of Coal Canyon Trail.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was headed westbound on the freeway in a 2010 Volvo when he crashed into a disabled vehicle on the right shoulder.
Following the collision, the Volvo reportedly drifted back onto the roadway, where it was struck by a big rig driven by Erik Peterson.

Sadly, the man in the Volvo was pronounced dead at the scene.
Peterson was not injured in the mishap.
The crash remains under investigation.
