Janet Corona ID'd as Woman Killed in Mission Hills Crash on Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway and San Diego (405) Freeway

Mission Hills, California (April 2, 2022) – A woman from Sylmar was killed in a traffic crash that took place in Mission Hills on Friday morning, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred at around 7:15 a.m. April 1, on westbound Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway at the transition to southbound San Diego (405) Freeway.
According to CHP, Janet Corona, 20, of Sylmar was driving a 2003 Toyota westbound on the transition when she lost control and went across the median and into the path of a westbound 2003 Toyota.
The Lexus slammed into the side of the Toyota, leaving the Toyota with major damage.

Corona was taken to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased.
The other driver, a 23-year-old Huntington Park woman, was left with minor injuries and stayed at the scene.
Authorities were looking for the driver of a white work van with cardboard which was reportedly stopped on the side of the roadway, and which may have caused one of the motorists to swerve and lose control.
That van, a 2005 GMC, had Pacoima registered plates.
Authorities said drunk driving is not suspected to be a factor in the incident.
The CHP is investigating the collision.
