Rialto, California (April 2, 2022) – Aaron McDonald, 31, was among two people who were killed in a crash involving a chase suspect in early Saturday morning, according to a report by the authorities.

The incident began in at about 1 a.m. April 2, when a vehicle nearly collided with a police cruiser.

The driver, suspected to have been under the influence at the time, was pursued by the officer on westbound I- and passed through and other areas.

The chase stopped at the intersection of Cedar and Randall avenues when the suspect failed to stop for a red light and slammed into another vehicle.

The suspect's car then crashed into a house in the area.

The two people in the victim vehicle, identified as McDonald and Irene Jaramillo, 30, were both pronounced deceased at a hospital.

The suspect, Alejandro Canchola, 24, of , and his passenger, Jose Castrocota, 21, were both transported to a hospital with moderate injuries.

Authorities said Canchola would booked at a San Bernardino County jail on murder charges.

No one in the house struck by the vehicle was injured but the house had significant damage.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
