Woman Killed in Brentwood Crash on Highway 4 Identified

Brentwood, California (April 8, 2022) – The Contra Costa County Coroner's Office has identified the woman who died in a Thursday morning head-on collision in Brentwood as Leilani Lake of Livermore.
The 18-year-old woman died at the scene of the crash that happened at around 5:48 a.m. on Highway 4 near Balfour and Marsh Creek roads.
Lake was driving a Toyota Corolla eastbound on the highway when her car crossed the double-yellow lines and collided head-on into an International pump truck heading west.
Lake was trapped inside her car, whose driver's side door was completely crushed.
First responders pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck did not suffer any injuries.
The deadly crash forced a hard closure of the highway between Balfour and Marsh Creek roads. Police diverted eastbound traffic off the highway at Balfour Road and westbound traffic off at Marsh Creek Road.
Authorities continue investigating the accident.
