Kern County, California (April 9, 2022) – Guillermo Valera, 57, was injured in a traffic collision that took place on near Pond Road in Kern County on Thursday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident took place shortly after 3:30 p.m. April 8.

According to CHP, a Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound on Pond Road when it failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a Ford Expedition.

The operator of the Toyota was killed in the incident.

Valera, who was the driver of the Ford, was treated for minor injuries.

The CHP is investigating the incident.
