Christina Hawley Hurt in Merced County Crash on Highway 140
Merced County, California (April 12, 2022) – Christina Hawley, 43, of Walnut Creek was injured in a collision on Highway 140 in Merced County on Sunday, the California Highway Patrol said.
At around 11:55 a.m. April 10, Bryan Gonzalez Alvarez, 23, of North Hills was driving a 2016 Volkswagen sedan northbound on North Cunningham Road when he failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a 2018 Audi sedan traveling west on Highway 140.
The impact caused the Audi to roll over.
Both drivers sustained major injuries and were taken to hospitals in Modesto.
The crash caused a closure of Highway 140 and Cunningham Road as crews worked at the scene.
The collision is under investigation.
