At Least 1 Seriously Injured in Sylmar Multi-Vehicle Crash on 5 Freeway near Roxford Street
Sylmar, California (April 17, 2022) – A driver was hospitalized with serious injuries after an early Sunday morning multi-vehicle crash in Sylmar, the California Highway Patrol said.
Four vehicles collided at about 2:14 a.m. on southbound 5 Freeway near Roxford Street and 405 Freeway.
Authorities said a Nissan Versa slammed into the back of a semi-truck with an empty tanker trailer for unknown reasons. Two other cars were also involved in the accident.
Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated at least two parties trapped inside one of the vehicles.
One driver was transported to Northridge Hospital Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the semi also required medical attention.
No other details were given, but authorities are investigating.
