Ryan Sanchez Injured in Fatal Deadly Crash on Pomona (60) Freeway near Reservoir Street

, California (April 18, 2022) – Ryan Sanchez, 23, was injured in a crash that left two women dead early Sunday morning in Pomona, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A 23-year-old woman and a second woman died following the incident that took place at around 1:55 a.m. on the Pomona (60) Freeway, west of Reservoir Street.

CHP said the unidentified woman was driving a 2019 Honda Civic at an unsafe speed east on the freeway when she crashed into the rear of a 2013 Toyota Camry that had stopped near the site of another crash.

One of the vehicles caught fire following the impact.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and put out the fire.

The driver of the Honda and the Chino woman, who was a passenger in the Camry, were both pronounced deceased at the scene.

Sanchez was driving the Camry. He was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center with minor injuries.

The crash caused a closure of all eastbound lanes of the freeway for several hours.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
