1 Dies in Sylmar Plane Crash on 210 Freeway near Hubbard Street
Los Angeles, California (April 20, 2022) – One person is dead after a small plane crashed alongside a Los Angeles freeway near Whiteman Airport on Wednesday afternoon.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said the small plane went down and came to rest among trees alongside Interstate 210 near Hubbard Street in northern San Fernando Valley at around 12:30 p.m.
The plane's destination and the cause of the crash were not immediately known.
LAFD said one person was killed in the crash.
The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
Officials say there was no fire and a small fuel leak was contained.
More details about the accident were not provided.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
