At Least 1 Suffers Major Injuries in Placerville Multi-Vehicle Crash near Pleasant Valley Road and Newtown Road
Placerville, California (April 20, 2022) – At least one person suffered major injuries after a multi-car accident that happened Wednesday afternoon in Placerville, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The pileup was reported at around 1:18 p.m. near Pleasant Valley Road and Newtown Road.
The accident involved a large tree removal truck, a silver Kia and a dark-blue Nissan Pathfinder. An unknown fluid was spilling from one of the vehicles onto the roadway and was making the road surface slippery.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and transported at least one person to the hospital with major injuries.
A sweeper was sent to the scene to clean the roadway. Sand was also spread on the road surface to reduce slipperiness.
At least two of the vehicles were towed away from the scene.
CHP is investigating the collision.
