Driver Dies and Another Hospitalized after Wasco Car Crash on Highway 46 near McCombs Avenue
Wasco, California (April 21, 2022) – One person died, and another was injured in a big rig accident that happened Thursday afternoon in Wasco, the California Highway Patrol said.
The collision occurred at around 2:39 p.m. on Highway 46 between McCombs Avenue and Corcoran Road.
A green 2000 Toyota Sienna van, a semi-truck and a third car were involved in the pileup. The vehicles were completely blocking the roadway after the crash.

First responders found one person pinned in one of the cars. That party was going in and out of consciousness and suffered moderate injuries.
Authorities said the driver of one of the vehicles died at the crash scene.
Another injured person was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Caltrans blocked the highway between McCombs Avenue and Corcoran Road following the accident.
CHP officers are investigating the factors that caused the vehicles to collide.
