2 LAPD Officers, One Civilian Hospitalized after Downtown Los Angeles Crash on South Main Street
Downtown Los Angeles, California (April 25, 2022) – Three people, including two Los Angeles Police Department officers, were injured in a Sunday afternoon traffic accident in Downtown Los Angeles, authorities said.
The crash occurred at about 4:15 p.m., on April 24, on South Main Street.
According to the officials, the officers were headed northbound on the roadway when they swerved into the southbound lanes to pass traffic. Unfortunately, they crashed into a white van that had started to turn left.
The LAPD vehicle reportedly had both lights and sirens fully activated and was said to be on its way to reports of a man with a gun when the collision occurred.
3 Injured in Downtown Los Angeles Crash
Two police officers and the van driver were injured in the accident and were hospitalized for treatment.
Two other parties in the van denied treatment.
Both vehicles sustained significant damage in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
