Albert Lepper ID'd as Driver Killed in Buttonwillow Accident on State Route 46 near Corcoran Road
Buttonwillow, California (April 28, 2022) – Albert Lee Lepper, 64, of Benicia, has been identified by the Kern County Sheriff's Office as the man who died in a crash that took place in Buttonwillow on April 21.
The California Highway Patrol said Lepper was driving eastbound on State Route 46 when, for unknown reasons, he suddenly drifted into the westbound side and collided with a crane vehicle.
The accident happened west of Corcoran Road.

According to CHP, Lepper was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the crane sustained minor injuries.
It's unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
The CHP is working to determine the cause of the incident.
