McKenzie Munsel, Trace Richards Among 4 People Injured in Fatal Fresno Crash on Highway 99 near Clinton Avenue

Fresno, California (May 1, 2022) – McKenzie Munsel, 12, and Trace Richards, 10, have been identified as two of the four people who were seriously injured in a Fresno car accident that killed an 11-year-girl from Tulare earlier this month, the CHP said.
The crash occurred on April 1, on Highway 99 near Clinton Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota Corolla, driven by Cody Munsel of Sonora, was traveling on the highway when a Dodge Ram operated by Gerardo Ortiz Jr, 27, of Kingsburg, rear-ended it.
The Ram was reportedly speeding before the collision.

The Ram had four passengers, Sarah Splettstoesser, McKenzie Munsel, Richards, and an 11-year-old girl.
Munsel, Splettstoesser, and the three children sustained major injuries and were taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The 11-year-old girl from Tulare was later transferred to Valley Children's Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
More details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
