1 Person Severely Hurt in Riverside Big Rig Accident on Highway 91 near Pierce Street
Riverside, California (May 4, 2022) – One person was ejected and seriously injured after a pickup truck collided with a big rig Wednesday evening in Riverside, the California Highway Patrol reported.
CHP said the wreck occurred at about 6:37 p.m. on eastbound Highway 91, just west of Pierce Street.
A pickup truck that was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed collided with a big rig and overturned, coming to a rest on its wheels.
A male occupant of the pickup was ejected from the vehicle, sustaining injuries, including a major front head injury.
Riverside police, firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene.
All eastbound traffic lanes of the highway remained closed for an unknown period following the collision.
