Elena Gomez Injured in Heber Crash on Highway 111 near Heber Road
Heber, California (May 10, 2022) – Elena Gomez, 84, was airlifted to a hospital following a deadly multi-vehicle collision early Sunday morning in Heber, according to California Highway Patrol.
Gregorio Gomez, 89, was reportedly driving a red sedan on Highway 111 when he drifted into the path of oncoming traffic, for unknown reasons.
His vehicle collided head-on with a white vehicle that was being driven by Ashley Castillo, 40.
The crash took place near Heber Road on Sunday, May 8.
Castillo's car was shortly after hit by a vehicle operated by Carlos Jimenez.
Gregorio Gomez sadly died at the site of the accident.

Elena Gomez was a passenger in the red sedan and was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries.
Castillo was extricated by firefighters and flown to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
Carlos Jimenez was uninjured in the incident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
