One Dies in Merced County Accident on Highway 99 near Applegate Road
Merced County, California (May 16, 2022) – One person was killed in a suspected DUI collision early Monday morning in Merced County, according to California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on Highway 99 north of Applegate Road.
A 28-year-old driver reportedly slammed into a piece of construction equipment in the area.
That driver died following the collision. Her name was not immediately released.
Alcohol is suspected to have played a role in the incident.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
