Man Dies after Wasco Accident on Kimberlina Road near Highway 43

, California (May 21, 2022) – A man involved in a collision with a big rig on Friday morning in Wasco died of his injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened on Kimberlina Road near at around 5:58 a.m. on May 20.

According to the CHP report, a red 2004 Ford Explorer SUV was traveling eastbound on Kimberlina Road when it drifted into the path of oncoming traffic and collided with a westbound big rig.

The impact sent the tanker off the side of the road and it spilled diesel fuel onto the roadway.

The driver of the Ford was taken to Kern County Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

The operator of the big rig was also taken to Kern with minor injuries.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
