One Killed in Huntington Beach Accident at Brookhurst and Bushard Streets
Huntington Beach, California (May 26, 2022) – One person died following a traffic collision involving a vehicle that had been earlier pursued by the authorities on Thursday night in Huntington Beach.
According to the Huntington Beach Police Department, one of the involved vehicles had been pursued by the Fountain Valley police officers prior to the collision.
It's unclear how many vehicles were involved in the accident that occurred at around 7:30 p.m. on Brookhurst and Bushard streets.
One person died following the collision.
A second party was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
It's unclear what led up to the collision. Authorities were working to determine the cause of the accident.

According to statistics by NHTSA, over 15,000 lives were saved by seat belts in crashes that happened in 2017. In 2020, 10,893 unbuckled people in passenger vehicles died in crashes in the US. 60% of the young adults (ages 18 to 34) killed in the crashes were completely unrestrained.
