Tris Yasay ID'd as UC Davis Student Killed in Sacramento Bicycle Accident at La Rue and Dairy Road

Sacramento, California (May 27, 2022) – The UC Davis student who was fatally hit by a garbage truck on Wednesday morning in Sacramento has been identified as Tris Yasay, 19, according to a local news source.
Yasay was a freshman at the campus and was hit by a city garbage truck as she was riding a bike at around 8 a.m. on May 25, at La Rue and Dairy Road.
The circumstances under which the collision occurred were not immediately established.
Medics transported Yasay to UC Davis Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased.
Police are conducting an investigation into the incident.

- When passing a bicyclist, always maintain a minimum of three feet of space, and also be patient when driving behind a bicyclist.
- Do not drive when impaired. Do not use your phone while driving.
