San Andreas, California (May 30, 2022) – Rodney Patrick, 57, of San Andreas, was seriously injured in a collision on Saturday evening in San Andreas, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened on near Gold Strike Roadon Saturday, May 28.

CHP said a 2001 Ford Expedition was traveling on the highway when it drifted into the opposite side and collided with a 2014 Dodge Ram that was being driven by Patrick.

The impact caused both vehicles to catch fire.

The driver of the Ford was killed in the collision.

Patrick was extricated by first responders who performed life-saving measures on him. He was later flown to UC with major injuries.

The identity of the deceased driver was not immediately released.

The CHP is handling the investigation.
