Seal Beach, California (May 31, 2022) – The person who was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Seal Beach early Monday morning has been identified as Jakayah Lassiter, 24, of , according to the County coroner's office.

The incident was reported at around 3:27 a.m. on May 30, on the connector from the southbound River (605) Freeway onto southbound (405) Freeway.

Lassiter was driving a 2007 Nissan Murano southbound in the HOV lane when she collided head-on with an attenuator barrier.

The Nissan was pushed back into the HOV lane, and it collided head-on with a southbound 2015 Honda Accord driven by a 70-year-old man. 

Lassiter was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Honda was taken to Long Beach Memorial Hospital with multiple lacerations.

A passenger in the Honda, a 32-year-old Huntington Beach man, was transported to the hospital with multiple lacerations and fractures.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation.

Seal Beach, California (May 30, 2022) – At least one person died following a multi-vehicle collision on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Seal Beach early Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At around 3:29 a.m., authorities responded to the scene of a crash on the connector from the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway onto the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway.

At least one person was pronounced deceased at the scene.

All lanes of the connector were shut down for the investigation.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation.
