Remember to Buckle Up

No matter the type of car you are driving, buckling up remains the safest choice for drivers and passengers.
As you drive around during the Memorial Day holiday, you will come across more law enforcement officers on the freeways as part of the Click It or Ticket campaign launched last week by the NHTSA. The campaign began yesterday, May 23, and will run through to June 5. The campaign aims at reminding drivers and passengers of the importance of wearing a seat belt and the legal consequences of not buckling up.
According to statistics by NHTSA, over 15,000 lives were saved by seat belts in crashes that happened in 2017. In 2020, 10,893 unbuckled people in passenger vehicles died in crashes in the US. 60% of the young adults (ages 18 to 34) killed in the crashes were completely unrestrained.
Remember, seat belt safety starts with you! Your children are watching.
