Enrique Hernandez Killed, Passenger Injured in Motorcycle Accident at Ramon Road and Lawrence Crossley Road

Riverside County, California (June 2, 2022) – 41-year-old Enrique Hernandez was killed in a motorcycle accident that occurred on Sunday, May 15, in Cathedral City.
Hernandez and a female passenger were riding a motorcycle westbound on Ramon Road when an eastbound pickup truck, turned onto Lawrence Crossley Road and crashed into the motorcycle.
The two riders were injured in the 1:18 a.m. crash and were transported to Desert Regional Medical Center.
Sadly, Hernandez succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.
The passenger was in stable but critical condition as of Sunday afternoon.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene and was yet to be located.
More details about the crash were not provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
Traffic Collision Fatalities Reached a 16-Year High in 2021, Early Estimates Show
Newly released estimates by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) show that fatalities reached a 16-year high last year. According to the Early Estimate of Motor Vehicle Traffic Fatalities in 2021 report released by NHTSA, about 42,915 people were killed in traffic collisions in 2021. This shows a 10.5% increase from the 38,828 fatalities reported in 2020. NHTSA says the projection is the highest number of traffic deaths since 2005 as well as the largest percentage rise in the history of the Fatality Analysis Reporting System.
