Timothy Warwick ID'd as Rider Killed in Rancho Cucamonga Accident on Foothill Boulevard near Baker Avenue

Rancho Cucamonga, California (June 4, 2022) – Timothy Warwick, 57, of Upland, was struck and killed by two vehicles on Monday night in Rancho Cucamonga, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
The crash happened at around 10:23 p.m. on May 30, on Foothill Boulevard near Baker Avenue.
Warwick was riding a bicycle in the area when he was struck by two vehicles traveling east on Foothill Boulevard.
The vehicles were being driven by a 44-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man and a 27-year-old Fontana man.
Authorities said Warwick was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The involved motorists remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department is investigating the incident.
Traffic Collision Fatalities Reached a 16-Year High in 2021, Early Estimates Show
Newly released estimates by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) show that fatalities reached a 16-year high last year.
According to the Early Estimate of Motor Vehicle Traffic Fatalities in 2021 report released by NHTSA, about 42,915 people were killed in traffic collisions in 2021. This shows a 10.5% increases from the 38,828 fatalities reported in 2020.
NHTSA says the projection is the highest number of traffic deaths since 2005 as well as the largest percentage rise in the history of the Fatality Analysis Reporting System.
