At Least 1 Sustains Serious Injuries in Crash Involving Riggs Ambulance near Rose Avenue and Bert Crane Road in Atwater
Atwater, California (June 4, 2022) – Major injuries were sustained when a Riggs ambulance collided with a Jeep Saturday afternoon in Atwater, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck took place at around 3:41 p.m. near Rose Avenue and Bert Crane Road.
Officers said for unknown reasons, the ambulance collided with a black Jeep. The crash also left the fence of a nearby property destroyed.
It was not clear if the ambulance was transporting a patient at the time of the crash and if it had its siren activated.
At least one person suffered major injuries in the collision. Firefighters responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital.
Both vehicles were towed away from the scene.
CHP is investigating the incident.
