Renanta Russo Hurt in Santa Cruz County Accident on Highway 1 near Laguna Road
Santa Cruz County, California (June 9, 2022) – A crash involving a big rig seriously injured a 56-year-old woman in Santa Cruz County on Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Renanta Russo, of Santa Cruz, was driving a car southbound on Highway 1 when she attempted to make a left turn and was truck by a semi-truck.
The impact pushed the car into the guardrail.
The crash happened near Laguna Road on June 7.
Russo was airlifted to a hospital with major injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.

Santa Cruz County, California (June 7, 2022) – Authorities are investigating a Tuesday afternoon two-vehicle accident that left a woman seriously injured in Santa Cruz County.
The crash occurred along Highway 1 near Laguna Road.
According to a local news source, a big rig collided with another vehicle on the highway in unclear circumstances.
The woman who was in one of the vehicles sustained major injuries in the accident. She was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.
Traffic on the roadway was stopped due to the accident, and as of 4:50 p.m., the highway was fully reopened.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
