2 Injured, 1 Seriously in Casitas Springs Crash on Highway 33

Casitas Springs, California (June 9, 2022) – Authorities are investigating a Thursday morning traffic accident that left two people injured, one seriously, in Casitas Springs.
The crash occurred at about 5:51 a.m. on Highway 33.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a car and diesel truck collided on the highway in unclear circumstances.
First responders arrived at the scene and extricated one person who was trapped in the wreckage, the officials said.
As a result of the crash impact, 30 gallons of diesel fuel spilled, prompting a hazardous-materials team to go to the scene, according to state environmental reports. The spill was contained on site.
One person was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to Ventura County Medical Center. One other party sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
