Peggy Agaplou Hurt in Kern County Accident on Highway 178

Kern County, California (June 14, 2022) – Peggy Agaplou, 59, was injured in a deadly collision involving a Tesla in Kern County on Monday afternoon, according to the authorities.
The incident took place at 1 p.m. on June 13, on Highway 178 near the Mouth of the Canyon.
Agaplou was reportedly driving a 2010 Ford westbound on SR 178 when she collided head-on with an eastbound Tesla that swerved into her path.
Medics responded to the scene and performed life-saving measures on a passenger in the Ford, who was unconscious.
Despite the measures, the passenger died at the scene of the accident.
Agaplou was transported to Kern Medical Center for evaluation and treatment.
Donna Smith, 34, was identified as the driver of the Tesla. She was not injured in the collision.
The cause of the deadly crash is under investigation.
