Five Injured in Central Bakersfield Crash on Highway 58
Bakersfield, California (June 15, 2022) – Several people were injured in a crash involving multiple vehicles in central Bakersfield on Wednesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place at around 7:45 p.m. on June 15, on Highway 58 near South H Street.
CHP said three semi-trucks and six other vehicles were involved in the pileup that occured in the westbound lanes of Highway 58.
One of the semi-trucks, which was carrying hay, rolled over and burst into flames following the impact of the crash.
A big rig driver and another person sustained major injuries in the incident.
Three other people were transported to hospital with less serious injuries.
CHP said alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the incident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
