Franklin White Severely Injured in Motorcycle Crash on Rainbow Canyon Road in Temecula

Temecula, California (July 4, 2022) – Franklin White, 42, has been identified as the  Police Department sergeant who was seriously injured in a on Saturday night in Temecula.

According to a California Highway Patrol report, the accident happened at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 2, on Rainbow Canyon Road, just north of Rainbow Valley Boulevard.

The sergeant was riding a police-issued motorcycle northbound on the roadway when he crossed the double yellow lines, and right into approaching traffic.

36-year-old Lucas Lopez, of Fallbrook, was driving a 2000 Nissan Frontier pickup southbound when he struck the motorcycle.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene and took the officer to Inland Valley Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.

Lucas was unhurt.

No additional information regarding this incident was provided.

An investigation is ongoing.
