Man, 28, Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 94 near Spring Street in Spring Valley
Spring Valley, California (July 18, 2022) – A man died after being struck by a vehicle on a freeway in Spring Valley, San Diego, on Sunday morning.
The fatal collision happened at around 2:30 a.m. on eastbound Highway 94 near Spring Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 28-year-old San Diego man was involved in a two-vehicle collision. The man exited the vehicle and was standing in the freeway's No. 1 lane when he was struck by a 2013 Hyundai Elantra driven by a 27-year-old Spring Valley man.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office
The name of the deceased person was not immediately disclosed.
The driver of the Hyundai was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
