18-Year-Old Man Killed in Sutter County Accident on SR-99 near Live Oak Boulevard

Sutter County, California (July 20, 2022) – A teen from Olivehurst was killed in a wrong-way collision that occurred on Tuesday night in Sutter County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident took place just before 8 p.m. on July 19, on near Boulevard.

A 2006 Toyota Solara traveling southbound in the northbound lane of SR 99 collided head-on with an oncoming U-Haul moving .

The driver of the Solara, an 18-year-old man from Olivehurst, died of injuries sustained in the accident.

The impact caused the U-Haul to overturn, and the two occupants were injured.

DUI is suspected to have played a role in the incident, the CHP said.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
