Motorcyclist Mikela Lang Dies in Perris Boulevard Collision in Moreno Valley, Car Driver Arrested

Moreno Valley, California (July 20, 2022) – A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday evening after colliding with a car on Boulevard in Moreno Valley, according to the County Sheriff's Department.

The deadly crash occurred at about 6:42 p.m. on June 19, 2022, on the southbound Perris Boulevard at Filaree Avenue.

According to the Sheriff's Department, a Hemet motorist identified as Byron Alexander Saucedo drove his Nissan Altima through a red light and collided with a Kawasaki Ninja 650 motorcycle.

The rider, identified as Mikela Lang, 33, of Moreno Valley, sustained injuries and was declared dead at the scene at about 6:54 p.m. the same day.

Authorities say Saucedo tried to flee the scene on foot but was captured by Good Samaritans. The witnesses restrained the hit-and-run suspect until the deputies arrived at the scene. He was later arrested on suspicion of felony vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run.

No additional details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
