1 Killed, 2 Injured in Pedestrian Accident at Stockton Blvd and McMahon Way in Sacramento

Sacramento, California (July 24, 2022) – One pedestrian died and two others were injured after being struck by a car at an intersection in Sacramento on Saturday afternoon.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened on Stockton Boulevard at McMahon Drive.
An 82-year-old driver was traveling north on Stockton Blvd and was attempting to make a left turn onto McMahon Drive.
Officials say a 29-year-old driver in a Toyota Rav 4 ran a red light at the intersection, veered to the right and struck three pedestrians.
One pedestrian died at the accident scene.
The other two pedestrians were transported to the hospital for treatment.
The 29-year-old driver attempted to flee the scene but was later located and arrested.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
