2 Hospitalized after South Sacramento Crash on Franklin Blvd

South , California (July 27, 2022) – Two drivers were hospitalized after their vehicles collided Wednesday at an intersection in South Sacramento, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The drivers were each behind the wheel of a red Ford Mustang when, for unknown reasons, the cars collided at around 1:17 p.m. on southbound Franklin Boulevard at the intersection with Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

The vehicles were blocking the intersection after the collision.

Sacramento firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene.

The paramedics transported one of the drivers by ground ambulance to Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center with serious injuries, including broken ribs, various lacerations and the complaint of pain to different body parts.

The other driver was also taken to the same hospital by ground ambulance with the complaint of pain to the right arm, but it was unclear whether it was broken or not.

Both vehicles were towed away with crash damage.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
