At Least 1 Hospitalized after Crash on Highway 50 near Wrights Lake Road in Kyburz
El Dorado County, California (July 27, 2022) – Authorities are investigating a traffic collision that happened Wednesday afternoon near Kyburz in El Dorado County, leaving at least one person with serious injuries.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place at about 3:40 p.m. on eastbound Highway 50, less than a mile west of Wrights Lake Road.
The collision involved at least two vehicles, including a semi-truck with a trailer hauling a Jeep and a Honda car.
Reportedly, the Honda attempted to pass the semi from the right side prior to the accident.
The impact forced the Jeep to come off the trailer, ending up about 40 yards down an embankment.
CHP said the crash resulted in minor injuries to at least one person. Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and transported the patient to the hospital.
CHP is investigating the accident.
