2 Critically Injured in Lodi Crash Involving Amazon Truck

, California (July 28, 2022) – Two people were critically injured, and another suffered minor injuries in a Lodi crash involving an Amazon that happened Thursday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at about 2:17 p.m. on East Harney Lane near Lower Road.

An Amazon and a Mercedes-Benz sedan were involved in the accident, as per the CHP report.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the Amazon truck was rear-ended by the sedan under unclear circumstances. The force sent the truck off the roadway and down into a ditch, where it hit an oak tree and got wrapped around it, landing on its side.

The truck driver got trapped inside the vehicle.

3 Injured in Lodi Car Crash on East Harney Lane

The Lodi Fire Department responded to the scene and used the jaws of life to free the trapped driver.

The firefighters transported the truck driver and a passenger of the sedan to the hospital in critical condition. The driver of the sedan was also hospitalized with minor injuries.

The roadway remained closed as the firefighters removed the truck from the ditch.

CHP is investigating to determine the cause of the collision.
